ABC…..

Age: 33.

Bedsize: King. You need a king when all 3 of your girls wanna hang out there. They’re not getting smaller, either.

Chores that you hate: ALL OF THEM.

Dogs:  I have a yellow labrador named Matilda, 10yo. And I just lost my beautiful angel Mafalda, a salt-and-pepper schnauzer last week, she was 5. It still hurts bad.

Essential start to your day:  Sometimes, my husband does this incredible delicious thing where he wakes up a bit earlier, hugs me and lightly rubs my back. I love it.  Or coffee.

Favorite color: Hot Pink.

Gold or Silver:  Silver.

Height: 5.3.

Instruments you play: none.

Job title: Accountant/Administrator.

Kids: 3 girls, 16, 10 & 5. Plus a stepson, 18. I’m way young for this, I am fully aware.

Mother's Name: Alma

Nicknames: not too many, mainly “guera” and “coro” from my hubby (those are in spanish)

Overnight hospital stays: Three times, giving birth to my prinkies

Pet peeves:  I can´t sleep with pants and socks. I don’t like to go out much. Or at all. And also, I’m extremely shy with people, like I’m afraid to say hello; if I see them in a random place and they don´t see me, I don´t say hi unless they do. Its weird I know.

Quote from a movie or tv show: From Harry Potter "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real??"

Right or Lefty:  Right.

Siblings: I have 4 younger sisters

Time you wake up:  I should get up at 6. I wake up at 6.30 then snuggle some more and get up around 7

Underwear:  mmmmh… clean? haha

Vegetable you hate:  Peas, when they are from a can. They’re dry and horrible.

What makes you run late: I guess thinking it’s really not late.

X-Rays You've Had:  When I was a teen I had them on my lower back, and discovered I have a little genetic condition. I´ve also had them for my broken toe in 2010, and a couple for my teeth. I don´t remember any other, but I might have had them.

Yummy food you make:  Lasagna.

Zoo Animal:  Monkeys of all kinds

Random things I did today

Yeah, why not?

***in no particular order***

1.- missed Mafalda, my late beautiful schnauzer (she just died, and I’m planning to do a full post on it, but not just yet, it hurts so much and I cannot look at her pics)

2.- went to see “The Devil Inside”. good plot, crappy ending.

3.- I should have crocheted the ton of amigurumi I’m supposed to deliver next week (a nativity set, a bride & groom, a Dora the Explorer, a Pucca, etc.)

4.- Open a new secret blog (guess not so secret) for my eyes only. Kind of a dear diary, since I have been struggling with some issues and I feel that it would be good to be able to look back on it

5.-Spent nearly two hours driving around between 2pm and 4pm. Hated it.

5 wonderful years!

Today, my youngest prinkie is turning 5. We have planned out a whole weekend of celebration and joy. Today, eating out at a restaurant of her choice, then ice cream, then movies.

(She just told me a moment ago: mommy, I have been waiting for this day ALL of these years!!)

Then tomorrow, her birthday party and all the afternoon playing with her new toys.

I still can’t believe how fast we went from here:

To here:

And in between, a whole lot of laughter, love, happiness, playing, hugs and kisses, songs and soooo much more!!!

Feliz cumpleaños Prinkie!!!!

Decluttering part 2

Ok, so I took 2 days off work to do this decluttering thing, and since its already day 2 you’d think I’d be, at least, halfway through…….. wrong!

I’m not even finished with my bedroom. I still have to do my closet, although 2 months ago or something like that I got out everything that didn’t fit or love, so that’ll be less time consuming. And then, the monster, AKA the girls’ clothes.

I don’t like to give away/throw their clothes unless they’re in extremely bad shape. It makes my heart ache. And there’s a bag in my closet full of onesies and baby clothes that were of my youngest, that I just don’t want to let go. But I’ll have to, its just silly to have all those clothes stored away when there’s so many people who could use it. So it could be an emotional day.

I am, however, keeping various items of clothing that especially remind me of my girls so that when I’m an old lady I can make them into a quilt and then wrap myself in it whilst I read my family blog.

No photos today, my house is never in a decent condition to show but especially not today.

We’ll see how it goes.

Decluttering time

.

All of that: I’ll get to it someday, I’ll do it later, I have to make time to get out the girls’ clothes that don’t fit anymore, has caught up to me.

My house is small, but there are 5 of us, and 4 pets, so we’ve been accumulating stuff for nearly 6 years and its about time.

Of course, I fear that this is going to happen to me:

But I have a logic point: at this point I don’t know where ANYTHING is. So there.

So, wish me luck. My greatest fear is that I find a rat or mice, or bugs of the gross kind, so pray that I don’t.

I hope I finish in like two hours. Haha

All of the pics are linked to their source.

Holiday sleeping

Or lack thereof.

See, we mexicans had this last friday a holiday, our independence day. Usually, on days like this I catch up on my sleeping. At least my plan was:

Friday.- Sleep, sleep, sleep. Eat. Sleep. Make some amigurumi.

Saturday.- Sleep, sleep, sleep. Go to my dad’s birthday.

Sunday.- Sleep, sleep, sleep. Eat. Sleep some more and a little time to amigurumi.

THAT IT´S NOT HOW IT WENT Llorón

At first everything was ok, I slept most of Friday morning. But then, I decided I didn’t want to sleep in the afternoon as not to mess up my sleeping schedule. And then, on Saturday, I couldn’t sleep on the morning. My kids were crying, or needing me for something. Or my mom would call me. I have trouble falling asleep specially during the day, so all of this interruptions completely scared my sleep.

So I went to my dad’s birthday not properly rested. And then, I went and stayed up all Saturday night singing karaoke with my sisters, so not only did I not sleep but instead I became more sleep deprived.  Which only made me stressed out because I wasn’t resting what I was supposed to.

Then, on Sunday morning, my hubby woke me up after just 5 hours of very light sleep (I heard his alarm on 5.45am, and then shortly I felt him reading in the iPad, then he was talking to me about breakfast, and so on. I´m a little resentful over this, I tell you) to get breakfast, so I figured I would go eat and then go back to sleep, which didn’t happen.

So yesterday night when we got home, I didn’t go to sleep right away so I would fall asleep early, which also didn´t happen, because I ended up falling asleep at about 1am. To get up at 6am.

So here I am, cranky, sleep-deprived, a little hungry and with a ton of work to do, and feeling like this is a vicious circle that I need to get out of. But, again, I have a plan. And that is, to go to sleep early (that means at 11ish for me) all week long to see if I can improve my above mentioned crankiness.

So wish me luck. Guiño I hope by the end of the week I’m telling you all about how well-rested I feel.

El chavo del 8

I’m sorry for not translating the title, I don’t know how to do that Sonrisa

This is a very loved character that has been around for literally ages, I used to watch this tv show when I was a little girl and it was not new at the time. It is huge in Latin America.

It is a sitcom of a group of people who were neighbors in what here in Mexico we call “vecindad”, which is basically a group of very small houses together that share something like a backyard. It was very very successful for all the years that aired, and now little children know it because there’s an animated series.

So, that’s why I did it, my nephew asked for it!!

Personally, I was saddened for the character because it is of a poor boy who is always hungry and would climb into a barrel to hide, and I thought that this is where he lived! He did not, his creator Roberto Gomez Bolaños has cleared up.

Honestly, I thought it has big cheeks but the eyes, I loved!!!

Dogs are smart

So, I must first tell you, that I am the guardian of a wonderful most-beautiful-dog-ever yellow labrador called Matilda, and of an adorable schnauzer called Mafalda. And a cat and her little kitty. They’re great, too.

I must start by telling you, that Matilda is biiiig. In fact, one day she dragged me down the street like you see in the comics, that’s how strong she is. This is she:

DSCN6503

See? I told you she was georgeous. Don’t mind the mess around, this is a little house and there are 9 of us here, dogs and cats included. What?

So anyways, the other night I was getting out of the house to take my sister to the bus central, and she ran away. This is major pain in the behind for me, because as I have stated, she is much stronger than me, and she won’t listen to me. And if I try to leash her and walk her she will drag me through the neighborhood. She will only listen to my husband, who was out on his golf and poker thursday night. So what I have to do when this happens is to go after her, with the leash, in my suv and then manage to get her and then drag her back to the house.

Except, this time around I didn’t know where the leash was. So Triste

My oldest girl went ahead of me to try and keep her at one place, and by the time I got to her, she already had her, so we got Matilda in the trunk of my suv. We got to the house and slowly opened the trunk, only to have her run away. AGAIN.

It was getting really late and my sister had a bus to catch so I ran and did the whole thing again, only this time I didn’t take her to my house, instead I took her with me to take my sister, thinking that I would have to leave her in the trunk so that when the hubs would come home, he would take her down, since when he is around she doesn’t run away. And she listens to him. They love each other. It’s not like I´m jealous or anything.

When we got to the house, I opened the back windows so she can breathe (it doesn’t open the whole window, just a little groove) and left her there thinking I’m some kind of genius to be letting her there. I even took a picture with my Blackberry AND THEN uploaded it to my twitter.

But as I was getting into the house, I had yet another great idea. Why not look for the leash, and then get her out my-own-powerful-self? So I asked the kids to go look for it and then bring it to me so I could get her into the house.

Except, when I opened the gate the first thing I saw, was my trunk door WIDE OPEN, and Matilda sitting there patiently waiting for me to open the gate. She even knew I had to come get her.

How she managed to open the trunk from the inside is beyond me. I tried, and I couldn’t do it.

Man, she’s so smart.

30 days, 30 photos **Day 9: Faceless self portrait**

This is easy.

30 days, 30 photos: **Days 6, 7 & 8 (ups!)**

So this is quickly becoming more of a “upload-whatever-pic-you’ve-got-that-fits-the-description-of-the-day” kinda thing. Sooooooooorry Triste

Day 6: Childhood memory
032808125417
This is the bathtube where I would bathe as a little girl, in my grandma’s house (which was my house growing up) These are my two little girls.

Day 7: Something new
This is a tough one!!!

How about my newly painted (all by myself, you should know) bedroom wall??
DSCN8752

Or how about my brand new kitty, born 2 weeks ago??
DSCN8753
(whom, by the way, we already convinced the hubs to keep. Actually, that’s a lie, non of us said a single word, he just loves him. Besides, this kitty is the only other male in the house besides the hubs –one wife, 3 girls, 2 female dogs and a female cat- so yeah, that might have been some kind of a factor)

Day 8: Technology

Ipad. My fave.

I did it!!!

30 days, 30 photos **Day 4: Favorite color**

Ok, this is a super easy one. If you hadn’t guessed it yet then I would be slightly worried, because it’s pretty obvious.

Let’s see:

1. The name of my blog. I know in english it may not make much sense, but in spanish, it does. So there.

2.- The theme of my blog.

3.- It’s not pink. Nor light pink. It’s hot pink. Or fuchsia, see??

4.- I do know the correct way to spell it, but Fuchsialand seems weird to me. I know, I’m weird like thatRisa

5.- I own quite a few fuchsia-ey things (in my blog that’s a word!) (that right there could have been my pic, too)

Now the pic:

**wait for a moment while I try to find one of the eight hundred million I’ve got**

to dance is to let our hearts speak

This one!!!

This is two of my loves combined: tahitian dance and hot pink. Perfect!!!

I don’t have the source for the pic since I have it since a lot of years ago when one used to download the images you liked. Waaaay before Pinterest.

I go now. Too many words for a photo challenge??
